An historic port
Historically the Caen harbour was specialized in coal, iron ore and steel products.
After WW2, the port activities have largely diversified: wood, agricultural and industrial bulk cargoes, heavy lifts… This is when SOGEMAR’s associates started their activities.
Cooperation of port stakeholders
SOGEMAR was created in 2006 through the association of the two departments of the SOGENA and SDV (Bolloré) groups located in Caen. Since then, Agrial, the Chamber of Commerce and Sea-Invest have joined in. In 2019, Martime Kuhn takes over Bolloré's shares.
